Prerequisites:

Mécacyl CRBioEthan is an adaptation of Mécacyl CR for ethanol engines. If your vehicle is in perfect conditions, has always had regular maintenance, never shows any abnormal consumption or leakage of oil and additives have never or rarely been used, you may absolutely use Mécacyl CRBioEthan with excellent results.

Frequency of use:

Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Max. 15,000 km to continue to get the best results.

If the manufacturer recommends an oil change every 20,000 km, Mécacyl CRBioEthan may be added.
In new vehicles:
- Add 2% without an oil change at 5,000 km as per the procedure defined above.

- Add 2-3% Mécacyl CRBioEthan upon the warranty-required oil change around 10-12,000 km.
- Add 2-3% Mécacyl CRBioEthan upon each oil change.

In used vehicles:
- Vehicle from 50,000 to 100,000 km: Do an oil change after adding
Mécacyl CRBioEthan at 5,000 km and then do oil changes at the normal intervals with Mécacyl CRBioEthan each time.

- Vehicle from 100,000 to 150,000 km: Do an oil change at 3,000 km; an oil change at 5,000 km and then oil changes at the normal intervals with Mécacyl CRBioEthan each time.

- Vehicle from 150,000 to 180,000 km: Do an oil change at 3,000 km; an oil change at 5,000 km and, if necessary, an oil change at 8,000 km then oil changes at the normal intervals with Mécacyl CRBioEthan each time.

- Vehicle beyond 180,000 km: Ask us.

Use:

Mécacyl CRBioEthan is to be used with clean oil after an oil change. If it couldn’t be added after the oil change, it can be added a maximum of 3,000 km after an oil change.
Dosage: 2-3% of the oil quantity; in other words, one 100 ml bottle for 4 to 5 litres of oil.

  1.     The engine must be hot; in other words, at operating temperature.
  2.     Pour Mécacyl CRBioEthan directly into the oil tank.
  3.     Run or turn on the engine for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Depending on the number of kilometres or the vehicle wear, 1 to 2 oil changes close together may be appropriate (see Frequency of use).

Please note:

- If your vehicle is equipped with an electronic control unit, you may need to reset it 1000 km after a 1st Mécacyl oil change.  Mécacyl can modify the engine performance and, thus, offer more significant fuel savings.

- White smoke will come out of the exhaust during the first 10 to 15 km after adding Mécacyl CRBioEthan. This is completely normal: Mécacyl CRBioEthan eliminates water and oxides; a dry engine wears out faster.

Type of oil:

For faster blending, 10W40 or 15W40 oils are best for 90% of all uses.

In general, all petroleum-based polymer oils are compatible with MECACYL whether they are multi-grade, semi-synthetic or synthetic (5W40, 5w30...).

For oil changes that are close together, 15w40 oil (vehicles produced before 2000) or 10w40 (vehicles produced after 2000) is perfectly fine. Continue doing oil changes at normal intervals, using Mécacyl CRBioEthan and the oil of your choice.

Benefits:

-          Less fuel consumption (8 to 15%).
-          Easier starting in cold weather.
-          Protects the engine (ethanol).
-          Less pollution.
-          Silence and suppleness.
