How do you use MECACYL CR-P in your lorry?

Prerequisites:

A variant of Mécacyl CR, Mécacyl CR-P offers effective care for all hydraulic tappets. It reduces tappet noise and knocking from the very first use.
Mécacyl CR-P is a complementary hyper-lubricant for all petrol, diesel, hybrid and gas vehicles. It is more specifically aimed at vehicles with noisy or knocking hydraulic tappets. It can be used in high kilometre engines if  Mécacyl CR is not effective against tappet problems.
If your vehicle is in perfect conditions, has always had regular maintenance, never shows any abnormal consumption or leakage of oil or coolant, you may absolutely use
Mécacyl CR-P with excellent results.

Use:

Mécacyl CR-P is to be used with clean oil after an oil change. If it couldn’t be added after the oil change, it can be added a maximum of 3,000 km after an oil change.
Dosage: 3-3.5% of the oil quantity.

  1. The engine must be hot; in other words, at operating temperature.
  2. Pour Mécacyl CR-P directly into the oil tank.
  3. Run or turn on the engine for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Depending on the number of kilometres or the vehicle wear, 1 to 2 oil changes close together may be appropriate (see below).

Please note: white smoke will come out of the exhaust during the first 10 to 15 km after adding Mécacyl CR-P. This is completely normal: Mécacyl CR-P eliminates water and oxides; a dry engine wears out faster.

In new lorries:
- Add 3% without an oil change at 5,000 km as per the procedure defined above.

- Add 3-3.5% Mécacyl CR-P upon the warranty-required oil change
- Add 3-3.5% Mécacyl CR-P upon each oil change.

In lorries with a lot of kilometres:
Oil change intervals vary based on the engine type.  A general rule cannot be provided here. In such case, ask us.

For oil changes that are close together, 15w40 oil (vehicles produced before 2000) or 10w40 (lorries produced after 2000) is perfectly fine. Continue doing oil changes at normal intervals, using CR and the oil of your choice.

For diesel lorries:

- Vehicles with a particle filter:
Mécacyl CR-P can be used in vehicles with a particle filter. The aim is always to protect the particle filter. Observe the precautions above.

- Vehicle with EGR valve coolant or exchangers:

Mécacyl CR-P can be used in vehicles with an EGR valve. The aim is always to protect the valve.

Specific situation:

Some diesel lorry models produced after 2010 are equipped with specific EGR valves (around 2% of all diesel lorries on the road). These EGR valves are coupled to 1 cooler or exchanger (EGR valve cooled by coolant). If your vehicle is equipped with this type of EGR valve, don’t use Mécacyl CR-P.

Other EGR valves can be used.

Type of oil:

For faster blending, 10W40 or 15W40 oils are best for 90% of all uses.

In general, all petroleum-based polymer oils are compatible with MECACYL whether they are multi-grade, semi-synthetic or synthetic (5W40, 5w30...).

Contraindications:

-          Abnormal oil consumption.
-          Abnormal coolant consumption.
-          Very worn, old engines which are about to break down.
-          Silicone, paraffin and graphite oils.
-          Non-petroleum polymer-based oils.
-          A diesel car equipped with an EGR valve cooled with coolant.
-          Previous additive use.

Benefits:

-          Tappet silence (knocking, noise...).
-          Protects the engine.
-          Less fuel consumption (8 to 15%).
-          Less pollution.
