BIKES - Which products in your line would you recommend for free wheel and hub bearing clanking on bikes?

Answer: For bikes, either pure Mécacyl HV or Mécacyl GR1 if the original greasing is present.

MOTORBIKE CHAINS- My motorbike has a chain with O-rings on the links (like most motorbike chains). What would you recommend?

Answer: For motorbike chains, our innovation has led to the development of an aerosol hyper-greasing product, Mécacyl GR1There is no contraindication for the use of Mécacyl GR1 with O-rings.

WHITISH DEPOSITS - After adding Mécacyl HJE to my tank, I noticed whitish deposits on my two exhaust pipes. Is this normal?

Answer: They are not chlorine deposits but rather whitish deposits that come from either borate ester or the deoxidisation and cleaning linked to the use of Mécacyl HJE. You might even notice rust. Clean the pipe so the residue doesn’t incrust and protect it with a little silicone for better cleaning. And avoid using fuels with a lot of additives.

INJECTOR PROBLEM - My car ha an injector problem; 1 out of the 4 works poorly. Can Mécacyl HJD resolve this problem?

Answer: If your problem is fouling or blockage, Mécacyl HJD should offer excellent results. You must use a higher concentrate; 1/2 bottle or 100 ml directly in the diesel oil filter. 5,000 km later, use ¼ of a well-diluted bottle during refuelling; repeat for the last quarter.

MÉCACYL CR OR MÉCACYL CR-P - I use Mécacyl CR in my 2010 Dacia Logan 1.5 DCI 86 CV, which already has 120,000 km, with each oil change. I just saw Mécacyl CR-P. What would you recommend I do?

Answer: Although they are based on the same Mécacyl know-how, Mécacyl CR-P is used differently. The hyper lubricant Mécacyl CR-P was specially designed for hydraulic tappets and use with high-kilometre engines with more than 150,000 km, no oil leakage or abnormal oil consumption yet noise in the hydraulic tappets. If your vehicle is regularly maintained using Mécacyl CR, you are fully satisfied with the results of Mécacyl CR and you have no problems with your hydraulic tappets, we recommend you stick with this lubricant.

80% BIO 20% PETROL – I want to use Mécacyl with my next oil change. I’ve got a 2003 vehicle that runs on 80% bioethanol and 20% SP98. What products should I use?

Answer: If your 2003 vehicle is in perfect conditions, has always had regular maintenance, never shows any abnormal consumption or leakage of oil and additives have never or rarely been used, you may absolutely use Mécacyl with excellent results.
FOR YOUR 80% BIO ETHANOL and 20% SP98 VEHICLE
We suggest you begin with Mécacyl CR BioEthan
Do as follows:

1) Change the oil and oil filter

2) With the engine at operating temperature, add Mécacyl CR BioEthan = 1 bottle for 4 to 5 litres of oil.

Type of oil recommended: Mécacyl is compatible with all petroleum-based polymer oils.
Benefits: Mechanical protection, torque and power gains, limits oxidisation, temperature increases, silence, suppleness and fuel savings.
The benefits of Mécacyl CR BioEthan:

-          Better performance

-          Decreases fuel consumption

-          Decreases alcohol dilution in the oil

-          Limits wear from cold starts.

If your vehicle is equipped with an electronic control unit, measure it after 1000 km as Mécacyl can modify the engine performance and, thus, offer more significant fuel savings.
The Mécacyl CR BioEthan action can be completed with Mécacyl HJE. 1 to 2 capfuls in 20 litres of fuel.

DOUBLE LPG / ÉTHANOL CARBURATION- After having treated all of my vehicles with your products, I’ve just purchased a Chevrolet Trans Sport 3.4L V6 11/2000 with 243,000 km. The engine works with E85 and LPG. Which products would you recommend?

Answer: If your vehicle is in perfect conditions, has always had regular maintenance, never shows any abnormal consumption or leakage of oil and additives have never or rarely been used, you may absolutely use Mécacyl with excellent results.
FOR YOUR BIO ETHANOL OR LPG VEHICLE
We suggest you begin with Mécacyl CR BioEthan
Do as follows:

1) Change the oil and oil filter
2) With the engine at operating temperature, add Mécacyl CR BioEthan = 1 bottle for 4 to 5 litres of oil.

Depending on the kilometres on your vehicle, oil changes close together may be advisable.

The Mécacyl CR BioEthan action can be completed with Mécacyl HJE. 1 to 2 capfuls in 20 litres of fuel. Mécacyl HJE offers particularly good valve lubrication.

BRASS SYNCHROS - Is Mécacyl HY compatible with brass synchro transmissions?

Answer: Yes, Mécacyl HY is compatible with brass. No known incompatibilities.

WORN TRANSMISSION – I’ve got a 1989 Porsche 944 2.7 with 22,000 km and the transmission has begun to show signs of wear. It’s a bit difficult to change gears (no crunching but changing is difficult). I just did a transmission fluid change with 100% synthetic 75w140. What would you recommend?

Answer: The characteristics of Mécacyl HY are quite superior to oil when subject to compression and shearing. I helps completely reduce noise or friction that may be resolved with lubrication. But, if your transmission is wearing down, Mécacyl doesn’t work miracles and will change nothing. Depending on the oil used, the results may take longer to notice. 75W140 oil is extremely fluid. It’s better to use 75w80 or 75w90 with Mécacyl. Nonetheless, there is no contraindication for the use of 75w140. As stated above, the results may take longer to notice.
Use: 5% in the transmission; in other words, one 100 ml bottle for every 2.5 litres of transmission fluid If you notice improvement but it’s still not great, you can use up to a maximum of 8%.

OIL – I’ve got a Chrysler PT/Cruiser CRD. The manual transmission uses ATF+4 oil (oil generally used in automatic transmissions, but the manufacturer uses it in this manual transmission). Is Mécacyl HY compatible?

Answer: Mécacyl is not an additive but rather a full lubricant. It belongs to the oil and grease family. So, the choice of one Mécacyl product or another doesn’t depend on the oil but rather the system to be lubricated.
Your Chrysler PT/CRUISER CRD has a manual transmission, so you should use Mécacyl HY as your transmission is a classical mechanical one.
Mécacyl is compatible with all types of transmission fluid as long as they are petroleum polymer-based. If your transmission is in perfect conditions and there is no oil leakage or malfunctioning or additives, you can use Mécacyl HY for your Chrysler.
Procedure: 5% in the transmission; in other words, one 100 ml bottle for every 2.5 litres of transmission fluid.

Type of oil recommended: Any type of transmission fluid.
Coolant oils are compatible but delay Mécacyl fixation.

The effects: Perfect cold or hot slip, no inertia or oxidation. Less energy demand. And suppleness and silence.

MOTORBIKE ENGINE ASSEMBLY – For 4-stroke motorbike engine assembly, can I assemble the crankshaft bearings and rotation and transmission with Mécacyl CR or Mécacyl HY instead of oil or mixing?

Answer: You can do assemblies with Mécacyl and with a brush. 2% Mécacyl CR in the oil is enough for the engine.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS - I’ve got an engine problem and a transmission problem. Can I use Mécacyl products?

Answer: Mécacyl cannot work miracles. It does not re-do mechanics. It can only solve problems that can be resolved with better lubrication like light wear and noise. It does not resolve oil leaks or abnormal oil consumption issues. It does not stop mechanical breakdowns already in process.

PARTICLE FILTER RISK - Can you use Mécacyl CR with a particle filter?

Answer: Mécacyl CR can absolutely be used in vehicles with a particle filter. The use thereof with particle filters is absolutely possible. By enabling better performance, lower fuel consumption and better combustion, the aim with Mécacyl is always to protect peripheral parts like particle filters / EGR and turbochargers by limiting fouling in them. Mécacyl HJD is the perfect complement to Mécacyl CR for diesel vehicles. The aim thereof is also to keep the filter particle in good conditions and to limit fouling. The only incompatibility: particle filters with additives inside.

MOTORBIKE TRANSMISSION NOISE– I want to mitigate transmission noise. Which product would you recommend?

Answer: For wet clutch motorbikesMécacyl CR gets excellent results by reducing transmission noise and offering more suppleness with each gear change.
Use: Mécacyl CR is to be used at 2%.

For separate transmissions: Mécacyl HY resolves these issues. It should be used in a portion of 3% the quantity of transmission fluid.

4-STROKE MOTOCROSS – Which products are designed for my 4-stroke motocross bike?

Answer: For your 4-stroke motocross bike, we recommend the use of Mécacyl CR at 2% with a petroleum-based polymer oil and 10W40 viscosity.

2-STROKE MOTOCROSS – Which products are designed for my 2-stroke motocross bike?

Answer: For your 2-stroke motocross bike, we recommend the use of Mécacyl AER at 3% the oil quantity. Dilute the oil very well with Mécacyl AER. Then pour it all into the auto-lube (separate greasing) or dilute at the habitual percentage with the petrol. Immediately start the bike.
